Happy Monday Reader,
It's no secret that you've got a lot on your plate. You're trying to navigate this new season as best as you can. You feel like you're bursting at the seams with thoughts, but the problem is your energy levels don't match your inspo.
But here is the thing not a lot of people are out there saying but I am SURE you are probably feeling or thinking Reader...
And that is that you're having a hard time focusing on work, staying on track, keeping your wellness commitments to yourself --- because your kids are home!
And trying to handle things the same way you handled them when your kids weren't home for the summer is exhausting. Thinking you can handle things the same way is keeps a lot of people stuck.
My #1 tip for getting unstuck this summer? Stop going against the grain hun...
You can't expect the same level of productivity you had during the school year. It's unreasonable. I wish more employers understood that... I wish more people understood that...
Instead of going against the grain, you should actually focus on making consistent progress (no matter how slow), being present in the moments with your kiddos, & practicing daily wellness. Small doses count too.
Here are a few fast & furious (and realistic) ways to practice daily wellness with your kids at home and sluggish summer season!
Massage
This might seem like a luxury, but I promise you need to start investing in your body at this level right now. If you can't get massages every week, go once a month. If you can't go once a month, go once a quarter. You need this Reader. We either care for our bodies now or try to heal them later. Your health is very important.
Schedule
I'm literally running around like a chicken with my head cut off... unless I have my schedule! There's a reason scheduling tools are soooooooo popular - especially among people in leadership. Even if you've tried to stick to a schedule before - it's worth it to try again until you find something you love! Whether it's a to do list, a habit app, Google calendar, a digital planner, a scheduling software - you need to maintain organization Reader.
Skincare
Babyyyyy listen to me: Reader, your skin needs to be your priority! You'd be surprised how incorporating quality skincare into your routine improves your confidence! You don't need expensive skincare to care for your skin. You only need to take your time. My skincare routine is a simple 3-step routine. Rihanna's brand is my fave skincare, but feel free to start wherever you'd like.
Steamers
Shower steamers are the perfect way to add a "quick hit" of luxe vibes to an everyday activity. I absolutely love steamers and this European Spa Source shower spray. It instantly feels like a spa experience when the scent hits my nostrils. It's also a reminder that those 15 mins in the shower.... are just... for... me!
Book Collection
You just need to make time to curl up with a good book every once in a while. Even if you only set a timer for 15 mins throughout your day, immersing yourself in a book can help you relax. This book changed my life Reader! If you haven't read this book... you need to read this book! I initially passed up on it, because I thought it was some New Age stuff --- but trust me when I say Reader - this book is THE REAL DEAL! No New Age religion here.
Beauty Rest
Speaking of relaxing.... get your beauty rest Reader! Let's keep it real.... chileeee you're at the age where rest matters for your skin, for your focus level, for your productivity, for how nice you are to people your mood, your waistline and the list goes on! Get your rest Reader! Your to do list is ALWAYS going to be there and there will never be enough time to get it all done. REST. Rest increases productivity!
Feelin' inspired yet Reader? When you finally get back to your regularly scheduled work days, I'm preeetttty sure that productivity boost will come back! Ya just need a lil brain space right now & ya know what? Ya need to take it, because things are gonna come back in full swing when slow season is over!
Well that's all I have for you this week Reader! As usual, if you have any questions, hit reply and let's chat!
